Cocktail Recipes

Looking for a delicious cocktail?   Here you will find both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktail recipes.  This is not intended to be a catch all cocktail directory.  These are all drinks that I make or have made regularly.  Original cocktails are creations of mine.  Some might be modifications of existing recipes.  If so, I apologize but will probably still call them mine.  Signature cocktails are those which I did not create, but that have come to be know as specialties of mine.  While we're throwing out disclaimers, in most parts of the civilized world it is illegal for those under 21 to purchase or consume alcohol.  Please be aware of this as you read on.   I do not condone nor promote underage drinking. 

Absente Energizer
1 1/2 oz Absente® absinthe liquor
Rock Star® energy drink
Pour over ice in a highball glass. Stir and enjoy.


Absolut Easy Breeze
1 1/2 oz Absolut® Ruby Red vodka
Cranberry juice to balance

Pour ingredients into an ice-filled highball glass. Stir and garnish with a lime wedge

 

Absolut Sex
3/4 oz Absolut® Kurant vodka
3/4 oz Midori® melon liqueur
1 oz cranberry juice
1 splash lemon-lime soda

Shake Absolut Kurant, Midori, and Cranberry juice in shaker with ice. Strain into a rocks glass and top with soda.

 

Alamo Splash
1 1/2 oz tequila
1 oz orange juice
1/2 oz pineapple juice
1 splash lemon-lime soda

Shake with ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass.

 

Amanda's Prickly Pear©
"The first recipe I tried when Absolut Pears came out, it quickly became the favorite of one of my favorites, Amanda."

1 1/2 oz Absolut® Pears vodka
Splash of club soda
Sour mix to balance

Pour over ice and shake. Garnish with a cherry. Simple, yet delightful!

Angela's Cantaloupe Martini
1 oz Absolut® Mandrin vodka
2 oz watermelon liqueur
2 oz orange juice

Combine all ingredients in an ice filled shaker. Shake shake shake! Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Also tasty over ice.

Apple Pie Margarita
1 oz white tequila
1 oz DeKuyper® Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
1 1/2 oz apple juice
1 1/2 oz sweet and sour mix
cinnamon sugar

Rim a margarita glass with the cinnamon sugar and fill halfway with ice. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into glass. Yummy!

 

AppleJack

1 oz Jack Daniel's® tennesee whiskey
1 oz Apple Pucker® sour apple liqueur

Pour into a shaker half-filled with ice. Shake to chill. Strain into a shot or rocks glass.

Appletini
"One of several ways to make this 'new classic'.  Special note, this is MY recipe not the Golden Lion recipe.  I can pretty much guarantee you won't get this when you order an appletini there."

3 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz triple sec
1 1/2 oz apple Pucker®

Shake with ice until frothy. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of green apple.

 

Aquatini
2 oz Absolut® Citron vodka
1 oz blue curacao liqueur
1 splash sweet and sour mix

Shake with ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon slice.

 

Bad Habit
1 oz vodka
1 oz peach schnapps
cranberry juice to balance

Build over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a cherry.

 

Bahama Mama #2
1/2 oz dark rum
1/2 oz coconut rum
1/4 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1/4 oz 151 rum
juice of 1/2 lemon
pineapple juice

In a Collins glass 3/4 filled with ice combine all ingredients and shake until frothy. Garnish with a cherry.

 

Bahama Mama #3
1 oz light rum
1 oz dark rum
1/2 oz colada mix
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz orange juice

Fill a blender one-quarter with ice. Add ingredients. Blend and pour into your favorite tropical glass. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherry.

 

Bahia Breeze
1 1/2 oz 1800® silver tequila
4 oz pineapple juice
1 1/2 oz cranberry juice

Build, in order, in a highball glass over ice. Garnish with a wedge of lime, and serve.

 

Banana Mama
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz dark rum
1/2 oz banana liqueur
1/2 oz cream of coconut
1 oz strawberries
1 oz pineapple juice

Fill a blender one-quarter with ice. Add ingredients. Blend until smooth and pour into a wine goblet.

 

Banana Rhum Cream
2 oz Rhum Barbancourt®
1 oz creme de banane
1 oz light cream
1 cup cracked ice
1/2 cup sliced banana

Pour into blender container and blend on high speed until frothy. Pour into your favorite tiki mug and garnish with shaved chocolate and maraschino cherries.

 

Barney on Acid
1 oz Jagermeister® herbal liqueur
1/2 oz blue curacao
1 splash cranberry juice

Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass.

 

Bend Me Over
1 1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 oz sour mix
orange juice to balance

Build over ice in a highball glass. Stir & serve.

 

Berry Switzer©
"I came in to work one day to find a bottle of Stoli Blueberi.  Named the drink as an homage to the Oklahoma Sooners football coach."

1 1/2 oz Stoli® Blueberi
splash of cranberry
club soda to balance

Build over ice in a double old-fashioned glass. Stir gently and serve.

Bikini Line
1 oz coconut rum
3/4 oz vodka
dash of grenadine
1 oz pineapple juice

Shake the liquors and pineapple juice with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop in a dash of grenadine. Garnish with an orange wheel.


 

Blue American
"Thanks to Carrie White for this yummy recipe!"

 

1 ¼ oz Absolut® Raspberi vodka
½ oz blue curacao
splash sour
splash sprite

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.

Blue-Eyed Blonde
1/3 oz Bailey's® Irish cream
1/3 oz white creme de cacao
1/3 oz blue curacao liqueur

Combine ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake Shake Shake! Strain into a cocktail glass.

Blue Motorcycle
3/4 oz gin
3/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz rum
1/2 oz blue curacao
1/4 oz sour mix
Sprite ® to balance

In a hurricane or pint glass, pour in all ingredients. Box with a shaker and serve. Garnish with an orange wedge.

*Boxing is a bartending term meaning pour the drink from mixing glass to shaker a couple of times to blend the ingredients. Bartenders use the boxing method when preparing drinks using carbonated mixers. To cover a carbonated  drink  with a top and shake can get a bit messy!*

Blue Pearl
1 1/2 oz Absolut® Kurant
3/4 oz blue curacao
1 dash Lemon Juice
Lemon-lime Soda
Lemon

Pour Absolut® Kurant and curacao into an ice-filled highball glass. Top up with soda. Garnish with the lemon.

Blue Whale
1 oz rum
½ oz blue curacao
Pineapple Juice

Build over ice in a highball glass, balancing with pineapple juice.

Blue-Woo
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz blueberry schnapps
balance with cranberry juice

Pour over ice in a highball glass. Stir & serve. Can also be shaken and strained as a shot using a splash of cranberry.

 

 

Body Bag
3/4 oz Jagermeister
3/4 oz Goldschlager

Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass

Bonecrusher
"A group of customers requested this recipe two summers ago. They still like to order it when they are feeling frisky. They claim I am the only one in the area that knows how to make it."​

1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz rum
1/4 oz grenadine syrup
1/4 lime juice
2 oz sweet and sour mix
1 oz Champagne

Combine all ingredients (except Champagne) in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a tall glass, preferably a pint glass or large brandy snifter with ice, and float the champagne on top with a squeeze of lemon. Serve.

 

Brass Monkey
3/4 oz rum
3/4 oz vodka
OJ to balance

An ultra easy cocktail, I only include it because I love the Beastie Boys.

 

Brooke's Mandrin Delight©
"The preferred drink of one of my favorite Golden Lion customers, Brooke Thomson."

2 oz Absolut® Mandrin vodka
splash of Sprite® citrus soda

Pour vodka over ice in a large rocks glass. Top with Sprite® and stir. Garnish with an orange slice.

Cable Car
1 1/2 oz Captain Morgan® spiced rum
3/4 oz Cointreu® orange liqueur
1 1/2 oz sour mix

Shake with ice and strain into a cinnamon-sugar rimmed cocktail glass.

Cafe Caribbean
3/4 oz white rum
3/4 oz amaretto
1 tsp sugar
coffee to balance
whipped cream (optional)

Pour liquors, sugar, and coffee into a mug or coffee glass. Top with whipped cream if desired.

Cajun Comforter
1 1/2 oz Southern Comfort
1/2 oz Old Grandad bourbon whiskey
Dash Tabasco sauce

Pour Southern Comfort and bourbon over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Add a dash of Tabasco (or your choice of hot sauce).

If you're feeling friskaaay, garnish with a jumbo shrimp!

Caramel Apple
1 oz vodka
½ oz butterscotch schnapps
½ oz apple pucker

Shake with ice & strain into a chilled cocktail or shot glass.

Caribbean Blue
1 oz Bacardi
½ oz blue curacao
¼ oz triple sec

Stir with ice & strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

 

Caribbean Christmas
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz coconut rum
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz orange juice

Shake with ice and strain into an ice highball glass.  Garnish with tropical fruit.

Caribbean Dream
1 oz light rum
1 oz peach schnapps
splash of grenadine
Orange juice to balance

Build over ice in a highball glass. Stir and serve.

Carrie's Undercurrent
"This recipe was given to me by a customer who also happened to be a bartender from Virginia.   Carrie has since moved here permanently and is still a good friend!"

 

1 1/2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz blue curacao
1/2 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur or creme de cassis
Splash sour mix

Shake the vodka, curacao, and sour mix with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Sink the Chambord (or cassis), creating a dark layer under an ocean blue layer.

Catalina Margarita
"This is a favorite of Emily Granger, owner of Bahama Mama's in Flagler Beach."

1 1/4 oz tequila
1 oz peach schnapps
1 oz blue curacao
4 oz sour mix

Pre-chill an unsalted margarita glass with ice. Pour all ingredients into an ice-filled shaker. Shake shake shake! Pour into the prepared glass. Anytime I use blue curacao, I like to garnish with an orange wedge.

 

Charleston Cooler
"This recipe was shared with me by a customer, John Noble."

1 1/2 oz vodka
3/4 oz amaretto
Sour Mix
Ginger-ale

In a tall glass filled with ice, pour vodka and amaretto. Top up with equal parts ginger-ale and sour mix. Drop in a cherry if desired.

Chelsea's Tipsy Turtle
1/2 oz vodka
3/4 oz light rum
3/4 oz dark rum
1 1/2 oz Malibu ®coconut rum
1/2 oz creme de banane
splash grenadine
pineapple juice
orange juice

Fill a hurricane or pint beer glass with ice. Build drink over ice, finishing with equal parts of the juices. Pour into a shaker and shake, shake, shake! Garnish with an orange slice and a flagged cherry.

Chocolate Cake
3/4 oz Absolut Citron® vodka
3/4 oz Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur
lemon wedge
sugar

Pour liquors into a shaker half filled with ice and shake to chill. Strain into a rocks or cocktail glass. Garnish with a sugar dipped lemon wedge. The protocol is "suck it and shoot it".

Cinnamon Apple Tini
1 oz vodka
½ oz Apple Pucker
¼ oz Goldschlager

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.  Garnish with a cherry and a pinch of cinnamon.

Citron My Face
1 oz Absolut® Citron
1 oz Grand Marnier® orange liqueur
1 oz sour mix
1 oz Sprite® lemon-lime soda

Stir in a mixing cup with ice and strain into a large shot glass. Another option is to build it over ice in a highball glass, filling with Sprite. Enjoy!

Coconut Pie
1 oz Malibu
® coconut rum
1 oz coffee liqueur
½ oz cream

Shake all ingredrients with ice & strain into a shot glass.

 

Cool Caribbean Breeze
"I named this, but can't take credit for the recipe. I'm sure it's been done before. One of my fave drinks to order."

1 1/2 oz light rum
1 oz cranberry juice
splash of 7-Up
pineapple juice

Build first three ingredients over ice. Fill with pineapple juice. Enjoy!

Coral Reef
1 1/2 oz vodka
2 oz Malibu® coconut rum
1 tbsp. strawberry preserves

Shake all ingredients with crushed ice. Pour into a chilled wine goblet. Garnish with a fresh strawberry.

 

Cream Soda©
1 1/2 oz Pango® rum
splash grenadine
ginger-ale

In an ice-filled highball glass, pour all ingredients. Stir and drop in a cherry.

Danimal's Dream©
"Created for my friend Danielle, aka Danimal."

1 oz Captain Morgan® spiced rum
1/4 oz peach schnapps
1/4 oz lime juice
pineapple juice

Pour all ingredients over ice, balancing with the pineapple juice. Stir and serve.

 

Dirty RedHeaded Slut
1 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur
1 oz Crown Royal
1 oz Southern Comfort

Shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass.

 

Electric Lemonade
1 ¼ oz vodka
¾ oz blue curacao
2 oz sour mix
2 oz Sprite
Pour all ingredients over ice.   Box with a shaker.  Lemon wedge garnish.

 

Fishbone
1 oz Malibu® coconut rum
1 oz blue curacao liqueur
1 oz Midori® melon liqueur
2 oz orange juice
2 oz sweet and sour mix
1 oz 7-Up®

Fill hurricane glass with ice, add liquors, orange juice, and sour mix. Shake well. Add 7-up and serve.

Flaming Pumpkin Pie
1/2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1/2 oz irish cream
1/4 oz Goldschlager® cinnamon schnapps
151 rum
cinnamon-sugar

Prepare as a regular pumpkin pie shooter, combining the first three ingredients in a shaker and straining into a shot glass. With cinnamon-sugar at the ready, top with 151 and light. As the rum is burning toss cinnamon-sugar in, creating fun fire effects.

*Please be very careful when dealing with flaming shots. They are intended for party hosts and bartenders only, not for you to show your friends when you are already hammered from a night of drinking.*

Flower Of Heaven
1 1/2 oz Bacardi light rum
1 oz creme de banane
1/2 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
1/4 oz lime juice
Dash grenadine

Blend with a small amount of ice. Serve in an oversized cocktail glass or coupette.

 

 

 

Fuzzy Astronaut
1 1/2 oz vodka
3/4 oz peach schnapps
Tang® orange drink to balance

Build over ice in a Collins glass. Stir, sip and enjoy the shuttle launch!

 

Georgia Tea
3/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz gin
3/4 oz light rum
3/4 oz peach schnapps
pineapple juice
orange juice

Build over ice in a highball or hurricane glass. Pour liquors, then fill with equal parts OJ and pineapple juice. Shake and serve.

 

Gingerbread Man
1/2 oz irish cream
1/2 oz Goldschlager
1/2 oz butterscotch schnapps
1/2 oz vodka

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks or shot glass.

 

Green Hornet Shot
1 oz vodka
1/2 oz Midori® melon liqueur
1/2 oz sour mix

Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass.

 

Green Iguana
3/4 oz tequila
3/4 oz Midori® melon liqueur
3 oz sour mix

Combine with ice and shake well. Pour into a highball glass and serve.

Hairy Navel
3/4 oz vodka
3/4 oz peach schnapps
orange juice

Build over ice in a highball glass. Orange juice to balance. Enjoy!

 

Harvest Moon
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Triple sec
Orange juice
Pineapple juice
2 tsp Grenadine

Pour all but grenadine into an ice-filled Collins glass (or pint glass), using equal parts of both juices. Slowly stir in the grenadine. Enjoy!

 

Hawaiian Breeze
1 1/2 oz vodka
Pineapple Juice
Apple juice

Build over ice in a highball glass, using equal parts pineapple and apple juice. Stir and enjoy.

Hawaiian Cosmo
2 oz vodka
1 oz apple juice
1 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz lime juice

Chill a cocktail glass. Pour vodka and juices into a shaker with ice. Strain into the glass and enjoy. Garnish with a pineapple wedge or wheel if desired.

 

Heather's Florida Frolic©
"Created for Heather & the Chicago Girls, teachers visiting on Spring Break."

1 1/2 oz Malibu® coconut rum
1 oz Absolut® Citron vodka
Pineapple Juice to balance
whipped cream
maraschino cherries

Pour rum, vodka, and pineapple juice into an ice-filled pint glass. Shake vigorously. Top with whipped cream and cherry or two. Enjoy!


Hedonism
2 oz Absolut® Pears vodka
2 oz apple juice
1 oz lime juice
mint for garnish

Fill a highball glass with ice. In a shaker half-filled with ice, pour vodka & juices. Give it a good shake and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

High Quality H2O
1 1/4oz Malibu® Passion Fruit rum
1 1/4oz Absolut® raspberi vodka
lemonade

Build over ice in a collins glass, balancing liquors with lemonade. Stir and quote Bobby Boucher: "Now that's some high quality H2O".
